Marmalade’s Top Ten

A Day in The Life:

Hi! It’s me, Marmalade! My goal in life is to play, preferably with my humans, aka Mamma & Daddio on 30a. When we are at our beach house, I dream of being on the beach. When I wake, I have to patiently wait for movement on the bed. I think they are just pretending to be asleep. You would think that since I’m an Aussie Doodle, I DO NOT SHED, but yet I’m STILL not allowed on the bed! What gives?

Subliminally, I send messages “Take Marmalade to the beach. Take Marmalade to the beach. Take Marmalade to the beach.” Look at me, who could resist this face and some sad-sounding whimpering? I’m a very good actor.

After lots of morning kisses, wiggling, and tail wagging, we hop in the golf cart and away we go. Top favorite thing to do is to run on the beach, Mamma tells me not to chase the birds, Daddio says “go for it!”

Marmalade’s Top Ten Countdown

Wanna know my top ten 30A favorites? SQUIRREL! Oh, sorry, got distracted. But yes, squirrel chasing made the list. They’re a lot like sandpipers. Except they can’t fly or go in the water. OK, so squirrels are NOT like sandpipers. Anyhoo….. on to my list! Here is my top ten countdown.

• #10 Sleeping in the sun. A 30A vacation must is a nice long sun bask, but don’t forget your sunscreen, humans!
• #9 Golf cart riding. Feeling the wind in my hair, and oh! the smells!
• #8 Shopping. Did you know that 30A shopping is amazing? And sometimes (just sometimes) they even let me in the store if I make myself look extra adorable.
• #7 Watching the deer graze in the backyard. It is soooo difficult for me not to go out and play tag with them, but Mamma says no. So glad there’s a sunporch to observe them from afar!
• #6 Romping with squirrels. Like I said, they are NOT like sandpipers after all, but there are tons of parks and other outdoor rec spaces around here with squirrels galore.
• #5 Taking walks with Mamma & Daddio. You should SEE all the great places there are to stroll on 30A. I get to meet tons of new people AND dogs! How cool is that?
• #4 Going out to eat with Mamma & Daddio. So many 30A restaurants, bars, and cafes are dog-friendly and I always get a bowl of water and sometimes… a special treat just for me!
• #3 Playing on the beach. Can’t get enough of that white sand! It matches my hair. And in the off-season, we practically have it all to ourselves.
• #2 Mealtime. Enough said
• #1 Do I really need to say it? Birdwatching! In particular, SANDPIPERS! Up close! Yup, #1. Mealtime is a very close second, though, I have to admit.
